Endodontic surgical procedures

Say Goodbye to Dental Problems and Hello to a Healthy Smile with Us

Descriptions

At Suncity Dental Clinic, we offer a range of endodontic surgical procedures to help our patients maintain healthy teeth and gums. Endodontic surgery is a type of surgical procedure that is performed to diagnose and treat issues that cannot be resolved with traditional endodontic treatment, such as a root canal.

Endodontic surgery may be necessary in cases where the root of the tooth has been damaged or infected due to trauma or decay, and traditional endodontic treatment cannot effectively address the issue. The most common types of endodontic surgical procedures include apicoectomy and retrograde filling.

Apicoectomy: An apicoectomy is a surgical procedure that is performed to remove the tip of the tooth root and any infected tissue around it. This procedure is typically performed when a root canal has failed to eliminate an infection or when the root tip is damaged or infected. During the procedure, our skilled endodontist will make a small incision in the gum tissue to access the root tip and remove it along with any infected tissue. The endodontist will then clean and seal the area to prevent any further infection.

Retrograde Filling: A retrograde filling is a surgical procedure that is performed to seal the tip of the tooth root with a filling material. This procedure is typically performed when a root canal has failed to eliminate an infection or when a root tip is damaged or infected. During the procedure, our endodontist will make a small incision in the gum tissue to access the root tip and remove any infected tissue. The endodontist will then fill the root tip with a filling material to seal it and prevent any further infection.

At Suncity Dental Clinic, our experienced and skilled endodontist performs endodontic surgical procedures with the latest technology and techniques to ensure the best possible outcome. We prioritize patient comfort and provide local anesthesia to ensure that patients feel little to no discomfort during the procedure.

If you are experiencing dental pain or discomfort and believe you may need endodontic surgical treatment, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with our experienced dental team. We are here to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums and provide you with the personalized care you deserve.

Smile Brighter, Laugh Louder: Our Top-Notch Dental Clinic is Here to Help

Toothache can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include biting into something hard, flossing, getting something stuck in between the teeth or braces. In children, it's a regular part of the developmental process.

Root canal treatment is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which is intended to result in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.

The length of the dental implant process depends on several factors, including the number of implants needed, the condition of the patient's teeth and gums, and the patient's overall health. Typically, the process takes several months, but our dentist can give you a more accurate timeline based on your individual needs.

Bleeding gums can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include flossing, teeth brushing, chewing tobacco or cuts/abrasions from foods.

After you undergo a tooth extraction, you will need to replace the missing tooth or teeth. If the teeth are not replaced, the bones in your mouth can weaken and lose density. Other teeth also might shift, and you might experience trouble eating.

Not necessarily. While the extraction may hurt if you are under the effects of nitrous oxide, you should not be in excruciating pain. For more serious extractions, you will need stronger painkillers such as oral sedatives or anesthesia.

Root canal treatment is not painful and can save a tooth that might otherwise have to be removed completely.

The good news is that you can get your teeth straightened no matter your age. Braces aren't just for kids. Even adults aged 50 and over can benefit from treatment by an orthodontist.

A root canal can prevent infection and ensure the developing permanent teeth stay healthy. Unless the tooth would have fallen out on its own in the near future, a root canal on a baby tooth might be indicated instead of an extraction.

Dental implants may provide a preferable comfort level and better chewing than dentures.

However, dental implants are much more effective than bridges in the long run and are also better in terms of oral health. The fact that they usually last longer than bridges accounts for the high cost that is generally associated with implant surgery.
